"Sure... I live life
on the wild side...
"But sometimes
that means slowing
down, relaxing and
enjoying the sights
and sounds of
nature."

Go Take a Hike – Guided Hiking with the Ocoee Adventure Center
Would you like a fun educational addition to your rafting trip with the Ocoee Adventure Center? Read on for more information on a guided hike with us! OAC is proud to offer guided hikes for groups of 4 to 40 that are appropriate for most ages and fitness levels. All of our hikes are led by people very familiar with the area, it’s history, and flora and fauna. We offer both ½ and full day hikes. We can take you to rarely seen waterfalls, breathtaking mountain vistas, and show you awe-inspiring examples of all the wonders of mother nature in the Cherokee National Forest.
Important things to know:
Bring comfortable, supportive footwear that you don’t mind getting wet – many trails cross over creeks during the hike.
Bring weather appropriate clothing – for Summer shorts and a t-shirt are fine, however Spring and Fall can be quite chilly, so you’ll want to avoid cotton!
All hikes are accompanied by guides familiar with and knowledgeable about the area, with advanced first aid training.
Some Potential Hikes:
- Rattlesnake Falls. This hike is a little under 2 miles one way (4 miles round trip), crossing beautiful Rock Creek several times as you walk upstream. The hike ends at beautiful Rattlesnake Falls, though the more intrepid hikers can scramble upstream a little farther and catch a glimpse of even more beautiful waterfalls as this stream tumbles off of Chilhowee mountain. This hike is suitable for anyone in moderate or better physical condition. This is truly a hike for all seasons! During the Spring, wildflowers abound alongside the trail, Summer brings great swimming opportunities at the base of the falls, and of course Autumn has unbeatable fall colors.
- Old Copper Road. An easy walk along the Old Copper Road will take you back to a different time. Your guide will explain the history of the trail, which is the last remaining segment of the original road constructed to speed the transport of copper from the mines of the Copperhill area to Cleveland, TN – this was a trip of 33 miles! This hike is appropriate for anyone in moderate or better physical condition.
Many other hikes, many much more advanced than the ones mentioned above are available, give our friendly reservations staff a call today to set up the perfect hike for your group.
