New! Multi-day Biking Trips with the Ocoee Adventure Center

Multi- Day Bike Tour in the Beautiful Cherokee National Forest

Spend two or three carefree days riding in the Cherokee National Forest enjoying great vistas, clear creeks, mountain lakes and awesome mountain bike rides through majestic Appalachian forests.  The rides are mostly on Forest Service roads through the mountains at a moderate pace. Some easier sections of single track can be included as well.

When to go:
Fall, winter and spring are all great times to tour the Appalachians. Thefall colors are amazing from the bike perspective! Mid winter ridesoffer great open mountain vistas and warm, dry weather in our area.  Nocrowds- just the wildlife and us!  Early spring rains create roaring creeks and waterfalls that provide us with spectacular vistas along our rides.

Where We Ride:
Day one starts off with a long downhill ride and then continues with some up-and-down but mostly level riding along the Hiwassee River. Our overnight stay is in a lodge overlooking the Hiwassee River.

Day two begins with a climb up to Oswald Dome on Chilhowee Mountain.  The road is low gradient and we take a break half way up.  A van with bike trailer follows the group and if you decide the ride is a bit more than you want...  just hop in for a lift to the top.  There is a great loop ride on top of the mountain with super vistas and then a six mile descent to Parksville Lake. The two-day trip ends here and you will be taken back to the outpost. For the three-day trips, after a short van ride we arrive at our cabin lodging for the evening.

On day three we take a short van ride to today's starting point near Big Creek. There will be some climbing today, but only one short steep stretch, then more great views and a nice long descent at the end of the ride to Thunder Rock on the Ocoee.  For the more adventurous, there will be options for more single track riding on days two and three
.
