This authentic American bar and grill offers mixed drinks, signature cocktails, an impressive wine list and great craft beers. You will want to get there as early as you can after your Ocoee rafting trip since they don’t take reservations! If you can’t get a table right away, no worries, just grab a cold one and mingle with lots of fine folks until a table becomes available.
A great place in downtown Blue Ridge to kick back after a fun filled Ocoee River rafting trip with Ocoee Adventure Center is Chester Brunnenmeyer’s! Chester’s is located on the ground floor of what was a historic hotel. Located just up the hill from the train depot. The “feel” of the place is rustic but modern and upscale at the same time. It is an excellent place to meet lots of folks and enjoy fine drinks and food in a warm inviting atmosphere!
The building once was the Old Gartrell Hotel. During the 1920’s and 30’s, Blue Ridge was a booming tourist destination. Because people came from all over by train to enjoy the mineral springs and mountain air. Many of them stayed at the Gartrell Hotel. Gartrell was a twelve room hotel located on the upper floors of the Bar and Grill building.
Chester’s opens at 4:00 Monday through Friday; 11:30 on Saturday and 12:30 on Sunday. They are located at 733 East Main Street in Blue Ridge and the phone number is 706-258-2539.
