Due to the onset of COVID 19, we have closed our Outpost until May 2. The Ocoee River is closed for commercial rafting until April 18, but we have decided to be more cautious and extend our opening date out of a concern for our customers and staff. May 2nd will be our first Ocoee rafting date for the 2020 season.

The North Shore rapidis the second whitewater rapid of the Middle Ocoee River. This rapid features many surf-able features especially for kayaks and hard-boats. After successfully running Grumpy’s Ledge you will enjoy a rollicking ride with ample opportunities for refreshing splashes. Beginning on river left the wave trains tend to work back towards the right bank. Often there will be boaters in colorful kayaks and canoes waiting in eddies for a turn to surf. Highway 64 hugs the right bank of the Ocoee River; you may see and hear rafting buses, motorcycles, and other vehicles as they travel through the gorge. On the other side of the river TVA’s flume appears to be climbing away. While you are enjoying a wet roller coaster ride on the Ocoee River.
Rolling Class III Whitewater Action
It is not uncommon to see a few kayakers swimming or empty kayaks floating through North Shore towards Staging Eddy. North Shore is an easy class III rapid with fun waves and small ledges.
