What class rapids are on the Ocoee River?

The Ocoee River features class III and IV rapids. Thus, it is the most popular river for whitewater rafting in the United States. It is known for its rapids, from family-friendly class IIIs to thrilling class IVs. The Ocoee  two sections are the Middle Ocoee and the Upper Ocoee. Each offers a unique experience. The Middle Ocoee offers thrilling class III energetic fun for the whole family. While the Upper Ocoee is more demanding but offers up thrilling class IV sure to please thrill seekers.

Middle Ocoee Family Fun

The Middle Ocoee is the perfect place for family fun and for those new to whitewater rafting. The rapids are mostly class III-III+! And the river is lined with beautiful scenery. The rapids are not too intense and are perfect for those looking for a fun day yet active day on the river. The Middle Ocoee provides a perfect day of adventure for an active family.

Upper Ocoee Thrilling Fun

For more daring and fit rafters, the Upper Ocoee offers class IV rapids and more thrills. This section of the river features more intense and longer rapids than the Middle Ocoee. It is perfect for those looking for a more challenging adventure. The Olympic channel from the 1996 Atlanta Games is sure to provide thrills as well as a workout as you navigate the challenging waves, holes and rocks for a clean run.

Full River All Day Rafting

For those looking for the best of both worlds, we offer a full river trip. The middle trip is a shorter journey that takes about three hours and is perfect for those looking for a shorter half-day adventure. But the full river trip is a longer journey that takes about six hours. full river trip includes both the Upper and Middle Ocoee. Thus giving rafters the opportunity to experience the best of both sections of the river.
