How much does it cost to go white water rafting in Tennessee?

The cost of white water rafting can vary significantly depending on several factors. Factors such as the time of year you go. Or the type of rafting trip you choose. And of course the location of the river. However, on the whole, the cost of a white water rafting trip ranges from $50-120 per person, and including all equipment. However guide gratuities are not included in this figure.

One consideration beyond price is the level of excitement and enjoyment you’re looking for. The Ocoee River, for example, is known for its high level of excitement. While the Pigeon River is more family-friendly but there is a papermill upstream. The different types of trips offered also impacts the price. Basic no frills trips are cheaper but deliver less. Different levels of safety features including staff training and equipment also impacts cost. How much time is spent on the river vs the bus might also help you decide where the best value is. Does the company take time to surf and play or rush you down to the take-out. Spending less could mean less time and play on the river. What are the conditions of facilities? Are how water showers available after your trip? How many photos taken of your party through rapids during your rafting trip?

Safety Costs

Family safety is also a major concern! Thus the cost of a trip can vary depending on the level of safety precautions the outpost takes. For example, how well trained and experienced are the river guides. How well maintained is the equipment such as the rafts, helmets, personal floatation devices, and paddles? Those bargain priced Groupon trips might be cutting corners on safety to trip quality. What’s your family’s safety worth?

Prices for white water rafting trips also vary depending on the time of year. In summer, prices tend to be higher due to the higher demand for rafting trips. However, deals abound in fall, when schools open and the demand for rafting trips drops.

Overall, white water rafting is a great experience that is definitely worth the cost. See our prices for Middle trips and Full River trips at Ocoee Adventure Center for a more accurate estimate of costs. You will get what you pay for with Paddleman!
